About Carol

My best friend and I started silk painting 10 years ago. Self-taught (except for those wonderful artists friends who share) we explored the vibrant world of colors on silk and paintings of our Colorado landscape.

I have always loved fabric, sewing and dressing up. From the time I was a little girl, my grandmother and mom taught me to sew. They made all my clothes-double since I have a twin sister. By our teens my sister could tailor coats. Not me! I was always trying different ways to make spectacular clothes.

I combine my love of sewing with expressing colors on silk. I design seasonal scarves, shawls and jackets, art hangings and table coverings as unique art and wearables. I have a studio in north Boulder, Colorado, Carol Silks, where I can create to my hearts content. Over the past ten years I have developed a line of fall, holiday and spring fashions. Each season brings new colors, patterns and techniques.

The hangings and table coverings are hand painted one-of-a-kind art. They are my original designs, which I paint onto stretched silk.
